A comparison between the gut microbiota of wild-collected chironomid larvae and lab-reared individuals

The gut microbiota of wild-collected Propsilocerus akamusi larvae and lab-raised individuals are characterized. This investigation introduces the profiling of gut microbiota derived from pollution-tolerant chironomids. This representative dataset would produce a foundation for exploring the protective role of insect gut-associated microbial community in the mediation of pollution tolerance.
