Coal Oil Point Natural Reserve Annual Report

RESEARCH PRWECTS In addition to the frequent visits of both UC and non-UC classes to the Reserve, studies and monitoring programs regarding water quality, and botanical and biological resources have been ongoing at the Reserve. The UCSB Herbarium issued Environmental Report #12, entitled "University of California, Santa Barbara Campus Wetlands Management Plan: Part I Technical Report on the Botanical Resources of West and Storke Campus Wetlands," authored by W. R. Ferren, D. G. Capralis, and D. Hickson, under the guidance of the UCSB Campus Wetlands Committee. The general goals of the study, funded by the Chancellor's Office and the State Coastal Conservancy, were to determine the nature and extent of the historic campus wetlands, to evaluate the present status of wetland botanical resources on West and Storks campuses, and to suggest management opportunities for these wetlands.
