Supporting data for “Children’s Patterning Skills and their Roles in Mathematics Learning”. This thesis contained 3 studies, aiming to provide a broader picture of patterning development and its contribution to mathematics learning. 2 datasets were used. The dataset for Study 1 and 2 contained the longitudinal data from preschoolers on their patterning skills, mathematics abilities and some cognitive abilities, and survey data from these preschoolers' parents. The dataset for Study 3 contained the cross-cultural data from elementary school students in Hong Kong and Montreal on their patterning skills, spatial skills, number line estimation ability, and various mathematics abilities.
《儿童模式认知技能(patterning skills)及其在数学学习中的作用》一文的支撑数据集。本论文包含三项研究,旨在全面呈现模式认知技能的发展脉络及其对数学学习的贡献。本研究共使用两套数据集:研究1与研究2所采用的数据集,涵盖学龄前儿童的模式认知技能、数学能力及部分认知能力的纵向追踪数据(longitudinal data),以及该批次儿童家长的问卷调研数据;研究3所采用的数据集,则涵盖中国香港与加拿大蒙特利尔两地小学生的模式认知技能、空间技能(spatial skills)、数轴估计能力(number line estimation ability)及多项数学能力的跨文化调研数据。
