Kingella kingae is a common etiology of pediatric bacteremia and causes osteomyelitis and septic arthritis in children aged 6 to 36 months. Kingella kingae is a fastidious organism that is often difficult to isolate from clinical samples. This project will collect isolates grown from culture and compare phenotypic features such as antimicrobial resistance with molecular markers. The whole genome sequences will also be analyzed for other features such as virulence factors and strain variations.
