XMM snapshot survey of an optically selected sample of black hole binaries

In a recent survey by combining photometry of ASASSN and spectroscopy ofLAMOST, a sample black hole binary candidates were selected. We speculate thatthey are Xray binary systems in the quiescent state. To distinguish them fromchromospherically active binaries, we propose to use XMMNewton observations tosearch for their Xray counterparts. By measuring the Xray spectrum and Xrayflux, we can select the most promising black hole candidates for followupobservations.
