The present invention relates to individual cellulose nanofibrils decorated with magnetic nanoparticles made of transition metal ions or an oxide thereof, as well as a method for the preparation thereof. The method of the present invention is performed in an oxidizing atmosphere, which gives a complete oxidation of the metal ions to hydroxide/oxide complexes and affords a strong attachment of the obtained complexes to the cellulose nanofibrils. The resulting metal ion complexes attach to the nanofibrils prior to the formation of the magnetic nanoparticles, thus preventing associations and agglomerations of the precipitated magnetic nanoparticles. Applications for the present invention include water purification, catalysis and biomedical applications.

本发明涉及一种负载有由过渡金属离子或其氧化物制成的磁性纳米颗粒的单一纤维素纳米纤丝(cellulose nanofibrils),及其制备方法。本发明所述方法于氧化性气氛中实施,可使金属离子完全氧化为氢氧化物/氧化物复合物,并使所得复合物牢固结合于纤维素纳米纤丝之上。所得金属离子复合物会在磁性纳米颗粒形成前结合至纤丝表面,从而避免析出的磁性纳米颗粒发生缔合与团聚。本发明的应用场景涵盖水净化、催化及生物医学领域。
