IMOS - Phytoplankton Abundance and Biovolume (CPR)

This dataset includes Continuous Plankton Recorder (CPR) data, as part of the Australian Plankton Survey (AusCPR) and phytoplankton from the Southern Ocean Continuous Plankton Recorder Survey (SO-CPR). The dataset comprises the phytoplankton abundance, biovolume measurements and phytoplankton colour index (PCI). To understand how CPR plankton data is analysed and how to use CPR data we recommend reading Richardson et al., 2006. The data are made available in binned products for ease of use. As taxonomy changes over time and the ability of analysts improves with training more and more species can be identified over time. The products account for these changes and for real absences from the samples. A 0 abundance means that the species was looked for and not seen, null (empty cell) means that the species was not looked for in that sample. The products are therefore applicable for use in time series analysis. There are a total of 9 products to choose from. Phytoplankton data are available as either abundance or biovolume, and each of these at 4 levels of binning: - Raw product (includes all data) - Species product (includes all data where species have been identified) - Genus product (includes all data binned to genus level) - Higher taxonomic group (includes all data binned to functional groups).(each of these products includes the phytoplankton colour index (PCI) per samples)PlusDerived indices (useful indices at segment level for CPR data)The PCI is an estimate of the amount of chlorophyl in the water. The colour of the silk is measured using Pantone colour charts against a numeric scale indicating increasing greenness or chlorophyll. 0 – No colour 1 – Very Pale Green 2 – Pale Green 3 – Green Plankton abundances were originally provided on the AODN Portal only as raw data, in flat table form (with each species recorded in a separate row), without any adjustments for taxonomy changes or real absences. The first version of the "analysis-ready" products were first published on 21/12/2018. However, they were removed again in April 2021 because technical issues prevented them from being regularly updated.This dataset supersedes the previous "IMOS - AusCPR: Phytoplankton Abundance" - https://catalogue-imos.aodn.org.au/geonetwork/srv/api/records/c1344979-f701-0916-e044-00144f7bc0f4 and "IMOS - AusCPR: Phytoplankton Colour Index (PCI)" - https://catalogue-imos.aodn.org.au/geonetwork/srv/api/records/e210cb45-910a-79c2-e043-08114f8c7800 (both collections were removed from the AODN Portal in March 2022, and the data has been archived).

本数据集包含连续浮游生物记录器（Continuous Plankton Recorder，CPR）数据，涵盖澳大利亚浮游生物调查（Australian Plankton Survey，AusCPR）的相关数据以及南大洋连续浮游生物记录器调查（Southern Ocean Continuous Plankton Recorder Survey，SO-CPR）中的浮游植物数据。数据集包含浮游植物丰度、生物体积测量值及浮游植物颜色指数（phytoplankton colour index，PCI）。若需了解CPR浮游生物数据的分析方法及使用方式，建议参考Richardson等人2006年的研究。为便于使用，数据以分箱产品形式提供。随着分类学的发展及分析人员经培训后识别能力的提升，可鉴定的物种种类随时间逐渐增多。这些产品考虑了上述变化以及样本中的真实缺失情况：丰度值为0表示该物种经过查找但未被发现，空值（null，即空单元格）表示该样本未针对该物种进行查找。因此，这些产品适用于时间序列分析。共有9种产品可供选择：浮游植物数据可按丰度或生物体积获取，且每种类型均包含4个分箱级别——原始产品（含所有数据）、物种级产品（含所有已鉴定物种的数据）、属级产品（含所有归至属级的分箱数据）、高级分类群产品（含所有归至功能群的分箱数据）；此外，还包含衍生指数（CPR数据的分段级有用指数）。每种产品均包含每个样本的浮游植物颜色指数（PCI）。PCI是水中叶绿素含量的估算值：滤丝颜色通过潘通色卡测量，并参照表示绿色度（或叶绿素含量）递增的数值刻度进行评定，具体对应关系为0（无颜色）、1（极浅绿）、2（浅绿）、3（绿色）。浮游生物丰度最初仅在澳大利亚海洋数据网络门户（AODN Portal）上以原始数据形式提供，采用扁平表格格式（每个物种单独占一行），未针对分类学变化或真实缺失情况进行任何调整。首个"分析就绪"产品版本于2018年12月21日首次发布，然而由于技术问题导致无法定期更新，这些产品于2021年4月被下架。本数据集替代了此前的"综合海洋观测系统（IMOS）- AusCPR：浮游植物丰度"（链接：https://catalogue-imos.aodn.org.au/geonetwork/srv/api/records/c1344979-f701-0916-e044-00144f7bc0f4）和"综合海洋观测系统（IMOS）- AusCPR：浮游植物颜色指数（PCI）"（链接：https://catalogue-imos.aodn.org.au/geonetwork/srv/api/records/e210cb45-910a-79c2-e043-08114f8c7800）这两个数据集（二者均于2022年3月从AODN Portal下架，数据已归档）。
