Xanthomonas citri pv. vignicola is responsible for bacterial blight of cowpea. This seed-borne disease causes mortality of seedlings, stem cankers, bushy and stunted growth, leaf and pod blight and high yield losses in severely affected crops. We provided genomes sequenced by single molecule real time (SMRT) sequencing for three strains of X. citri pv. vignicola. These genomes will help to gain more informations on this plant pathogen. In particular, SMRT sequencing will allow the analysis of complex genes containing internal repeats such as Transcription Activator-Like (TAL) effectors.
菜豆黄单胞菌豇豆致病变种(Xanthomonas citri pv. vignicola)可引发豇豆细菌性疫病。该种传病害会导致感病幼苗死亡、茎部溃疡、植株丛生矮化,同时引发叶部与荚果疫病,在严重受侵染的作物中会造成高额产量损失。本研究为3株菜豆黄单胞菌豇豆致病变种提供了经单分子实时测序(SMRT)获得的全基因组序列。这些基因组将有助于深入解析该植物病原菌的相关生物学信息,尤为关键的是,该测序技术可用于分析包含内部重复序列的复杂基因,例如转录激活因子样(TAL)效应物。
