Hebe Sleeping

Hebe was the daughter of Jupiter and Juno, the godess of youth and cupbearer of the Gods. She became a popular figure among 19th century sculptors. Carrier-Belleuse chose Hebe as a subject on several different occasions. He appreciated her because he could contrast the themes of drinking, feasting with the slender body of the young goddess and the powerful imagery of Jupiter as an Eagle. This monumental version was sculpted in marble, but several other versions were made in metal too.赫柏（Hebe）是朱庇特（Jupiter）与朱诺（Juno）之女，司职青春，亦是众神的侍酒者。她是19世纪雕塑家们钟爱的创作形象。雕塑家卡里埃-贝勒兹（Carrier-Belleuse）曾多次以赫柏为创作主题。他之所以钟情于赫柏，是因为可以将饮酒、宴饮的主题，与这位年轻女神纤细曼妙的身姿，以及以鹰之形象现身的朱庇特的磅礴意象形成鲜明对照。这件纪念性雕塑以大理石雕就，另有数件采用金属材质的复刻版本。
