Local Elections in Norway, 2007

The data set is derived from Statistic Norway's local election survey in 2007, commissioned by Institute of Social Research. The purpose of the survey was to enlighten different sides of the local democracy; elections and election campaigns, political interest and participation.

The survey deals with the following subjects:
-Political interest
-Voting in municipal, county council and national elections.
-Assessment of the significance of elections
-Assessment of the local democracy and local services
-Municipal challenges
-Municipal organization
-Information about politics
-Voting for persons in municipal elections
-Political participation

The survey is conducted as telephone interview and self-completion forms. The variables from the telephone interview have names beginning with 'spm', whilst variables from the self-completion questionnaire have variable names starting with 'po'.

To obtain knowledge about changes in the electorate, a part of the sample is derived from the gross sample of the Local Election Survey in 2003. This panel consists of people in the ages of 22 - 83 years. For the panel to have cross-sectional features, the real panel had to be supplied with persons from cohorts that recently had become eligible to vote during the four intermittent years. The supplementary sample is often characterized as a "false" panel.

Note: Errors have been detected for the variables associated with question battery 35 (A-K), question 36, question battery 38 (A-G), and question 39 from the postal form. No respondents have been recorded with the value "6".

调查采用电话访谈与自填式问卷相结合的方式开展。电话访谈产生的变量名称以‘spm’开头，而自填式问卷产生的变量名称则以‘po’开头。

为了解选民群体的变化，部分样本源自2003年地方选举调查的总样本。该面板样本涵盖22至83岁的人群。为使面板样本具备横截面特征，需向原有真实面板样本中补充在这四年间新具备投票资格的队列人群。此类补充样本通常被称为‘伪’面板样本。

注：邮寄问卷中与问题组35（A-K）、问题36、问题组38（A-G）及问题39相关的变量存在错误记录。无受访者被记录为取值‘6’。
