Evolution of holometabolous insects.. Carabus granulatus

Holometabola is the most successful lineage of living organisms in terms of species number (ca. 800,000). For the reconstruction of a robust backbone of the holometabolan phylogeny transcriptome data are analysed. The main issues of the project are the interrelationships of the holometabolan orders, the evolution of different character complexes and the groundplan of the lineage, and the assessment of data quality and information content of molecular and morphological data.

全变态类（Holometabola）是现存生物中以物种数量衡量最为繁盛的演化支，已知物种约80万种。为构建稳健的全变态类系统发育骨干框架，本研究对转录组数据进行了分析。本项目的核心研究议题包括全变态类各昆虫目间的亲缘关系、不同性状复合体的演化历程以及该演化支的基础体型模式，同时还将评估分子与形态学数据的质量及信息含量。
