Total upper eyelid reconstruction in the treatment of sebaceous gland carcinoma

Abstract Sebaceous gland carcinoma (SGC) is the third most frequent malignant neoplasm in the eyelids. It usually affects elderly women and can simulate blepharitis or chalazion. Upper eyelid reconstruction is always challenging. The purpose of this is to report an unusual case of SGC in the upper eyelid of a young and male patient. Total resection of the right upper eyelid was performed and histological examination revealed free margins. The reconstruction was done with two surgical procedures at different times. Due to the fact that SGC presents a high potential for metastasis, the patient continues to be followed for functional and aesthetic reevaluation.

摘要 皮脂腺癌（Sebaceous gland carcinoma, SGC）是眼睑第三位高发的恶性肿瘤。该病好发于老年女性，临床表现易与睑缘炎或霰粒肿相混淆。上眼睑重建手术始终具有较高的技术挑战性。本文旨在报告1例罕见的青年男性患者右上眼睑皮脂腺癌病例：患者接受右上眼睑全切术，术后组织病理学检查证实切缘阴性；重建手术分两期于不同时段完成。鉴于皮脂腺癌具有较高的转移潜能，患者目前仍在接受定期随访，以开展功能与美学层面的再评估。
