This dataset contains associated collector and identifier data for specimens of the African tropical Asilidae (Diptera), covering the genus *Choerades* and the new genera *Nannolaphria* and *Notiolaphria* distributed in southern Africa and Madagascar. The data is annotated by volunteers via Bionomia, based on specimen data aggregated from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), and organized in the Frictionless Data package format. The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) dataset with the identifier ca073709-11d6-43e3-9dc8-86c3998db8db is annotated by Bionomia volunteers.
