ABSTRACT This study aimed to assess the technical feasibility of using five Eucalyptus species to manufacture Oriented Strand Boards. The species studied were: Eucalyptus benthamii, Eucalyptus dunni, Eucalyptus grandis, Eucalyptus saligna, Eucalyptus urograndis the mixture between them and the Pinus taeda as control. The panels composed by a mix of species showed dimensional stability similar to others produced with Eucalyptus pure species. The panels of Eucalyptus had lower water absorption and thickness swelling values to the controls panels. In static bending, the MOR values did not show statistics differences between treatments, however, for MOE the Eucalyptus panels showed statistically higher values when compared to control specie. In internal bond, the panels produced with Pinus taeda showed higher average value than the other species. All species as well as the mixture showed technical feasibility for the production of Oriented Strand Board.

摘要 本研究旨在评估利用5种桉属(Eucalyptus)树种制备定向刨花板(Oriented Strand Board)的技术可行性。本次研究涉及的受试树种包括:本氏桉(Eucalyptus benthamii)、邓恩桉(Eucalyptus dunni)、巨桉(Eucalyptus grandis)、柳桉(Eucalyptus saligna)、尾巨桉(Eucalyptus urograndis),以及上述5种桉属树种的混合试样,另以湿地松(Pinus taeda)作为对照组别。混合树种制备的刨花板,其尺寸稳定性与纯桉属树种制备的板材相当。桉属树种制备的刨花板吸水率与厚度膨胀率均低于对照组板材。在静弯性能测试中,各组处理的静曲强度(Modulus of Rupture, MOR)值未表现出统计学差异;而就弹性模量(Modulus of Elasticity, MOE)而言,桉属树种刨花板的数值显著高于对照组板材。在内结合强度测试中,湿地松制备的刨花板平均数值高于其他受试树种制备的板材。所有受试树种及其混合样均具备制备定向刨花板的技术可行性。
