Neonatal hypothermia is a condition in which neonate’s body temperature is less than 36.5 degree centigrade within 28 days of life. Hypothermia is a significant concern as it can have both immediate and long-term physiological effects like respiratory distress, cardiovascular instability, metabolic changes, and impair immune function, while long-term physiological effects as such neurodevelopmental impairment, growth and development disruption, and increased morbidity and mortality.
