Endophytic fungal communities in the Pinaceae

We characterized the endophytic fungal communities associated with 3 tree species within the Pinaceae: Abies concolor, Picea pungens, and Pinus heldreichii. Leaves were sampled in the fall from 6 age classes on each tree. There were two sampling strategies: extensive and intensive. In the extensive sampling, many trees were sampled but with minimal replication. In the intensive sampling, few trees were sampled, but each with a high amount of replication. We sampled extensively and intensively from all 3 species in the fall of 2016. We additionally sampled in the fall of 2017, with just an intensive sampling from Pinus.

本研究对松科（Pinaceae）下3个树种的内生真菌群落进行了表征，涉及树种包括白冷杉（Abies concolor）、蓝云杉（Picea pungens）和海尔德里希松（Pinus heldreichii）。于秋季采集每株树体6个龄级的叶片样本。本研究采用两种采样策略：广域采样与密集采样。其中广域采样的采样树体数量较多，但单株生物学重复次数极少；密集采样的采样树体数量较少，但单株生物学重复次数极高。2016年秋季，我们对全部3个树种同步开展了广域与密集采样。2017年秋季，我们补充开展了采样工作，仅针对松属树种进行了密集采样。
