LEXICAL AND SEMANTIC FEATURES OF COLOR TERMS IN MODERN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

This article analyzes the lexical-semantic properties of color terms in modern English and Uzbek. Color words not only express the appearance of objects, but also reflect a person's emotional state, mental experiences and cultural views. The article discusses the lexical structure of color terms, basic and derived color names, their direct and symbolic meanings based on examples. It also shows the cultural interpretation of colors in English and Uzbek, their role in phraseological units and their artistic function in literature. The results of the study reveal the inextricable link between language and culture of color terms.本文旨在分析现代英语与乌兹别克语中颜色术语（color terms）的词汇语义属性。颜色词汇不仅能够描摹事物的外观形态，更能映射使用者的情绪状态、心理体验与文化观念。本文结合实例，探讨了颜色术语的词汇结构、基础与派生颜色名称，以及它们的字面含义与象征意义。此外，本文还阐释了英语与乌兹别克语中颜色的文化内涵，分析了颜色术语在熟语（phraseological units）中的作用，以及其在文学创作中的艺术功能。本研究结果揭示了颜色术语与语言、文化之间密不可分的内在关联。
