The sheet "Fig1" in the file <i>Fig_data</i> contains data on the direction and spatial distribution of ER hysteresis across 324 global sites. The sheet "Fig2&3" provides the datasets used for assessing factor importance and constructing structural equation models. The MATLAB script <i>Calculates_Delta_ER</i> was used to identify warming and cooling seasons at each site and determine ΔER. The script <i>Upscaling</i> was employed to predict the global distribution of ΔER.
