Views on the use of social services by immigrants in Belgium 2019

Immigration has always been part of human history. However, it is still one of society's most controversial topics. As any sensitive subject, talk about immigration faces misunderstandings and myths. One of these concerns the use of social services. For some, immigrants take important social services away from real nationals. According to this Ipsos survey, this statement was quite well shared in Belgium. In 2019, one out of two respondents in Belgium believed immigrants took social services away from them. 22 percent of them neither agreed nor disagreed with this presumed unfairness. One out of five people did not believe in such a statement, yet without rejecting it. Furthermore, a quarter of respondents disagreed with this.
