Microbial community dynamics in the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS) after the summer 2016 mass invertebrate mortality event, 2016-07-31 to 2016-08-01

Here we describe microbial community dynamics in the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS) after a massive invertebrate mortality event occurred in the sanctuary. Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing of filtered water samples collected from CTD stations within the FGBNMS, we characterized microbial community membership and structure within the water column to search for evidence of what may have caused the mortality event.

本文旨在描述花花园银行国家海洋保护区（Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary，FGBNMS）发生大规模无脊椎动物死亡事件后，该保护区内的微生物群落动态。我们通过对FGBNMS内CTD站采集的过滤水样进行16S rRNA基因测序（16S rRNA gene sequencing），表征了水体中微生物群落的组成与结构，以探寻该死亡事件的潜在诱因证据。
