This dataset primarily documents long-term soil moisture data for Plot 4 grassland at the Hulunbuir Station. Soil water content at various depths of each grassland plot was measured via the oven-drying method. Its sampling frequency is lower than that of instrumental measurements, and it serves as a calibration standard for instrumental soil moisture monitoring. This dataset holds critical significance for understanding the medium-term and long-term changes in soil water content of Plot 4 grassland within the grassland ecosystem under the combined impacts of global climate change and human activities.
