It addresses key topics in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance, cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), green development, and corporate strategic management. Specifically, our research investigates the dynamic influence of Chinese private enterprises’ ESG performance on the depth and breadth of their cross-border M&A activities. These themes are central to sustainable business practice and corporate sustainability, directly fitting the interests of Sustainability in promoting research on ESG, international business strategy, and sustainable development.This study bridges ESG practices with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating how Chinese private enterprises can leverage ESG to advance global sustainability through cross-border M&A.This study focuses on Chinese private firms; future research could compare state-owned enterprises or extend to other emerging economies. Additionally, granular ESG sub-dimension analysis warrants further exploration

本研究聚焦环境、社会及公司治理（Environmental, Social, and Governance, ESG）表现、跨境并购（Cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions, M&A）、绿色发展与企业战略管理等核心议题。具体而言，本研究探究了中国民营企业的ESG表现对其跨境并购活动的深度与广度所产生的动态影响。此类主题均为可持续商业实践与企业可持续发展的核心范畴，与ESG、国际商务战略及可持续发展领域的研究推广需求高度契合。本研究将ESG实践与联合国可持续发展目标（UN Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs）相结合，阐明了中国民营企业如何通过跨境并购依托ESG推进全球可持续发展。本研究仅聚焦中国民营企业；未来可针对国有企业开展对比研究，或将研究范围拓展至其他新兴经济体。此外，对ESG细分维度的精细化分析仍有待进一步探索。
