Australian Marine Microbial taxa and community Niche Indices

We compiled a globally unique, highly standardised molecular dataset describing Southern Hemisphere marine microbial (bacterial, archaeal and eukaryotic) assemblages composition from over 3,500 samples spanning temperatures ranging from ~ -1.5 to 32℃, latitudes 0 - 62 °S and depths from surface to ~6,000m. Observed phenotypic trait indices were generated for ~50,000 uncultivated microorganisms using a kernal density modelling approach, defining their preferences in terms of temperature, salinity, nitrogen, phosphate, silicate, oxygen, and chlorophyll conditions. Individual species indices are combined into community weighted indices. Community weighted indices were further clustered to provide a single index that reveals the status of the microbial assemblage in relation to all other samples.File Microbial _Indices_NRS_only contains data for Australian National Reference Stations.

本研究构建了一套全球独有、高度标准化的分子数据集，用以描述南半球海洋微生物（细菌、古菌与真核生物）群落的组成结构。该数据集涵盖3500余份样本，覆盖温度范围约-1.5℃至32℃、纬度区间0°S至62°S，采样深度从表层延伸至约6000米。研究采用核密度建模方法，为约5万个未培养微生物生成观测表型特征指数，明确了它们对温度、盐度、氮、磷酸盐、硅酸盐、溶解氧及叶绿素环境条件的偏好性。将单个物种的特征指数整合为群落加权指数后，进一步对该指数开展聚类分析，最终得到单一综合指数，可反映当前微生物群落与全部参照样本的群落状态差异。文件Microbial_Indices_NRS_only仅包含澳大利亚国家参考站的相关数据。
