The universe of social networks, fully involving the language system, establishes various relationships with proverbs and phraseological expressions. Generally, it is possible to identify two patterns of treatment of these linguistic elements: some FB pages, like Calendario dei proverbi siciliani, aim to find and make known them. Others, such as Siciliansays and Cose Molto Tumblr-Palermo, instead alter their original meanings for the achievement of different purposes. The intention of this article is to present a perspective on these dynamics within FB in some case studies.
