Demographic and seasonal variation in the cloacal microbiome of free-ranging striped plateau lizards, Sceloporus virgatus

A long-term expansive dataset of Sceloporus virgatus cloacal microbes. The investigated the response of the cloacal microboime to a seasonal gradient as well as physiological factors (sex, size, and reproductive status). The data were collected during the entire active period for the lizards, over three years. The dataset highlights the importance of large scale studies of wild microbiomes.
