Attitude of Populace to Energy Questions after Chernobyl (November - December 1986)

Attitude to energy corporations and to nuclear power. Judgement on the
reactor accident in Chernobyl.

Topics: most important political tasks; personal opinion leadership;
sympathy scale for the Post Office, trade unions, oil companies,
insurance companies, employer´s federations, electric companies, banks,
home construction companies and the automobile industry; assumption of
government or private power supply; specification by name of one´s own
energy provider; general impression of the energy provider; perceived
problems in the power supply in the FRG; assumed knowledge about power
generation among persons of the same age; preferred and reasonable
energy sources for future power supply; most important reasons for this
preference; self-classification of knowledge about power generation;
knowledge about the currently most important and in future desired
energy sources in the Federal Republic; energy questions of particular
interest; expected increase in use of energy in the FRG; most able and
most believable institution or party or reporter on questions of energy
policy; knowledge about the nuclear power plant accident in Chernobyl;
extent of change in attitude to nuclear power plants due to this
reactor accident; earlier and current attitude to nuclear power; trust
in the safety of German nuclear power plants and assessment of the
probability of such an accident in the Federal Republic; attitude to
nuclear power plants and to the long-term or short-term shutting down
of nuclear power plants (scale); willingness to pay increased power

FRG, even with further operation of nuclear power plants in the other
