Hazard level for Earthquakes

Earthquake refers to the shaking, trembling or displacement of the earth surface due to seismic waves or other phenomena of volcanic or tectonic origin. The classification of hazard is based on the likelihood of the hazard exceeding predefined thresholds. The thresholds are based on hazard frequency and intensity and set using expert judgement. A higher hazard classification in ThinkHazard! indicates that there is greater potential for damage or disruption to activities or a project in that region, according to the underlying hazard data.

地震（Earthquake）指因地震波或其他火山、构造成因现象引发的地表晃动、震颤或位移。灾害等级的划分以灾害超过预设阈值的可能性为依据。该阈值由灾害发生频率与强度确定，并经专家研判设定。依据底层灾害数据，ThinkHazard! 中的更高灾害等级表明该区域内的活动或项目存在更大的受损或中断风险。
