We experimentally questioned whether spatially unstructured atrazine-containing media could support coexistence of multiple atrazine degrading species through BQH mechanisms. We propagated for ~ 100 generations four-species consortia, in triplicate, in seven minimal media supplemented with citrate in excess, as the carbon source, and either one among three nitrogen sources: atrazine, cyanuric acid: the metabolic product of the upper part of the atrazine degradation pathway, or ammonium sulfate; or 2-way and 3-way combinations of the above mentioned nitrogen sources, keeping the N molarity constant. The four complete genome sequences we are submitting are the ones of the ancestral strains used in the above-mentioned experiment.
本研究通过实验探究空间非结构化的含莠去津(atrazine)培养基能否通过BQH机制,支撑多种莠去津降解菌株的群落共存。本研究对四物种菌群开展了约100代的传代培养,设置三组生物学重复;实验共采用七种基础培养基,均以过量柠檬酸盐作为碳源,氮源分别为以下三类之一:莠去津、氰尿酸(cyanuric acid,即莠去津降解途径上游阶段的代谢产物)、硫酸铵,或是上述氮源的二元、三元组合,全程维持氮元素摩尔浓度恒定。本研究提交的四条完整基因组序列,均为上述实验中使用的祖先菌株的基因组序列。
