A novel fungal strain, <i>Bjerkandera adusta</i> BK-1, as a promising broad-spectrum biological control agent against plant fungal diseases

In this study, we aimed to investigate the biopesticide activity of a novel fungal strain Bjerkandera adusta BK-1. The in vitro inhibitory potential of BK-1 against six species of identified phytopathogenic fungi was evaluated using a dual culture assay. In addition, in-planta treatment with BK-1 as a fungicide significantly reduced plant disease symptoms, such as grey mould, brown spot, and early blight disease. Furthermore, the colonisation ability of BK-1 in soil and leaves was also found to be stable. Overall, BK-1 has practical value as a novel, promising broad-spectrum biocontrol agent against multiple plant fungal diseases.本研究旨在探究一株新型真菌菌株烟管菌BK-1（Bjerkandera adusta BK-1）的生物农药活性（biopesticide activity）。本研究采用对峙培养法（dual culture assay），评估了BK-1对6株已鉴定植物病原真菌（phytopathogenic fungi）的体外抑菌潜能。此外，将BK-1作为杀菌剂（fungicide）进行植株体内处理后，可显著减轻灰霉病（grey mould）、褐斑病（brown spot）及早疫病（early blight disease）等植物病害症状。同时发现，BK-1在土壤与叶片中的定殖能力较为稳定。总体而言，BK-1作为一种新型、极具应用前景的广谱生防菌剂（biocontrol agent），对多种植物真菌病害具有实际应用价值。
