Database on problematic smartphone use and its impact on adolescent mental health in Latin America (2015-2024). Includes prevalence by country (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru), distribution by age group (6-11, 12-17 years), gender, type of use (social media, video games, messaging) and associated mental health indicators (anxiety, depression, insomnia). Data harmonized from academic sources, national surveys (INEGI, DANE) and regional studies. In Mexico, 80.3% of adolescents used smartphones in 2024 (vs 52.3% in 2016); problematic use prevalence 3.9-5.2%; 70% experience insomnia from excessive use.
