Alaska DEC Fairbanks PM2.5 Control Zones
收藏资源简介:
This map service shows the boundaries of the Fairbanks North Star Borough PM2.5 Nonattainment Area and the Air Quality Zones. The nonattainment area was designated in 2009 for violation of the Federal 2006 24-hour PM2.5 Standard. PM2.5 stands for particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in diameter. On October 2, 2018, Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) voters passed a citizen initiative (Prop 4) that removed the FNSB’s authority to regulate wood stoves and other wood and coal fired heating devices. Therefore, the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Air Quality Division will be issuing air quality alerts, curtailment announcements, and conducting compliance and enforcement. DEC may either call the Alert or Curtailment for the entire nonattainment area, or for specific zones: North Pole Zone, Fairbanks Zone, Goldstream Zone, or a combination. For more information about DEC Curtailment and Alerts in the Fairbanks North Star Borough Nonattainment Area, visit http://dec.alaska.gov/air/anpms/communities/fbks-pm2-5-curtail-alert/ For more information about the FNSB PM2.5 Nonattainment Area and air quality regulations affecting the area, visit http://dec.alaska.gov/air/anpms/communities/fbks-particulate-matter/ The Air Quality Zone map data was created by FNSB GIS Division. The Nonattainment Area map data is produced by EPA and is based on the legal description of the nonattainment area in 74 FR 58688, https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2009/11/13/E9-25711/air-quality-designations-for-the-2006-24-hour-fine-particle-pm25#h-38.
