IMOS - Ships of Opportunity – Expendable Bathythermographs - Upper Ocean Thermal Data collected on the line PX2 (across the Banda Sea)

Temperature data from the TOGA/WOCE transect PX2 across the Banda Sea (Flores Sea - Torres Strait) has been collected since 1983 and are ongoing. The transect is repeated approximately 12 times a year with profiles obtained approximately every 50-100 Km. The data are obtained from XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) deployed vie marchant vessels, and are managed by the Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems (JAFOOS), a collaborative venture between CSIRO Marine Research and the Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC).

TOGA/WOCE断面PX2横跨班达海（弗洛勒斯海-托雷斯海峡）的温度数据自1983年起开始收集，且持续至今。该断面每年重复观测约12次，每50-100公里获取一次剖面数据。
数据通过商船部署的消耗性深度温度计（XBTs，expendable bathythermographs）获取，由澳大利亚海洋观测系统联合设施（JAFOOS，Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems）管理——该设施是CSIRO海洋研究中心与气象局研究中心（BMRC）的合作项目。
