Full_Code_andData_CannibalismMesocosms

This repository contains an R markdown file with statistical code and associated datasets for Goodnight and McCoy cannibalism mesocosm project 2020. Submitted to Ecology 2023.

The Rmd file "Full_Code_CannibalismMesocosms" contains all statistical code, top models for each analysis, and base figure outputs for all analyses. File is separated into sections for each analysis: "Infection intensities and abundance models" ; "Cannibalism rate models" ; "Number of Nymphs surviving models" ; "Standard deviations of nymph body size by treatment" .

Contents of each dataset are provided here and also outlined in the first section of the R markdown file.

INITIAL_SIZES_1026.csv = initial size measurements of nymph hosts per mesocosm before the experiment

sizes.csv = full main dataset. Size measurements of nymph hosts post-exeriment, plus all infection intensity data (cyst counts) per parasite species per host. Tank ID numbers and other relevant data (experimental days of setup/breakdown, date of dissection for each nymph, etc.)

hali_only_withsizes.csv = subset of sizes.csv dataset with data from the tongueworm experiment only

haem_only_withsizes.csv = subset of sizes.csv dataset with data from the lungworm experiment only

varmean_all.csv = summed total parasite counts (abundance) by mesocosm for both experiments and all treatments, plus the size variance and mean metrics for nymph populations both at beginning and end of experiment

本仓库包含一份R Markdown文件，内含用于2020年Goodnight与McCoy同类相食中型实验生态系统(mesocosm)项目的统计代码与配套数据集，本研究已投稿至《Ecology》2023年度期刊。

名为`"Full_Code_CannibalismMesocosms"`的Rmd文件包含全部统计代码、各分析的最优模型，以及所有分析的基础绘图输出结果。该文件按分析类型划分为以下模块："感染强度与丰度模型"、"同类相食率模型"、"若虫存活数量模型"以及"不同处理组下若虫体型的标准差"。

各数据集的详细说明已在此处及该R Markdown文件的第一章节中列明。

`INITIAL_SIZES_1026.csv`：实验开始前，各中型实验生态系统中宿主若虫的初始体型测量数据

`sizes.csv`：完整主数据集，包含宿主若虫的实验后体型测量数据，以及每头宿主对应每种寄生虫的全部感染强度数据（囊泡计数），同时包含实验容器编号及其他相关数据，如实验搭建与拆解的天数、每头若虫的解剖日期等

`hali_only_withsizes.csv`：`sizes.csv`数据集的子集，仅包含舌形虫实验相关数据

`haem_only_withsizes.csv`：`sizes.csv`数据集的子集，仅包含肺线虫实验相关数据

`varmean_all.csv`：两项实验所有处理组下，各中型实验生态系统的寄生虫总计数（丰度）汇总数据，同时包含实验开始与结束时若虫种群的体型方差与均值指标
