Ecology Lab 3 - Sweep net dataset

This experiment was conducted at the Osoogde Law School at York University on September 29th. The experiment was conducted by two groups, one group collected data using a quadrat and the other collected data using a sweep net. The two groups conducted 10 experiments in both unmowed and mowed grass areas. The group with the sweep net used a transect to measure 30ft and then walked along it while trying to catch insects in the sweep net. The group with the quadrat collected data by counting the number of organisms in their quadrat. Four steps were taken from where the quadrat was originally placed and then the quadrat was placed there and the organisms in that area were counted. More organisms were collected in the unmowed areas.

本实验于9月29日在约克大学（York University）奥索格德法学院（Osoogde Law School）开展。实验分为两组实施：一组采用样方（quadrat）采集数据，另一组使用扫网（sweep net）采集数据。两组分别在未修剪草坪与已修剪草坪区域各开展10次实验。使用扫网的小组先以样带（transect）划定30英尺的长度，随后沿该样带行进，同时用扫网捕捉昆虫。使用样方的小组则通过计数样方内的生物体数量采集数据：从样方初始放置点向外移动四步后放置样方，统计该区域内的生物体数量。未修剪区域采集到的生物体数量更多。
