The house mice (Mus musculus) have been treated as one of the key model animals in biomedical and genetical research for more than 100 years, and many inbred strains of house mice are currently available for experimental usage. Although, genetic diversity of wild house mice at global scale has been poorly understood. Here, we provide high quality genomic resource of wild house mice samples covering wide range of Eurasian continent and islands, especially East and Southeast Asia. Our report of genomic sequences makes possible to determine wide range of variations including SNPs and INDELs, in wild house mouse populations.

家鼠(Mus musculus)百余年来始终是生物医学与遗传学研究领域的核心模式动物之一,目前已有多种家鼠近交品系可供实验研究使用。然而,全球范围内野生家鼠的遗传多样性仍未得到充分认知。本研究提供了覆盖欧亚大陆及诸多岛屿广泛区域的野生家鼠样本的高质量基因组资源,尤其聚焦东亚与东南亚地区。本研究发布的基因组序列,可用于解析野生家鼠种群中涵盖单核苷酸多态性(Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms, SNPs)与插入缺失(Insertions/Deletions, INDELs)在内的各类遗传变异。
