WIVERN (Wind Velocity Radar Nephoscope) is a future ESA Earth-observation satellite mission, under the Eart Explorer 11 program, aiming at measuring winds within clouds globally using advanced spaceborne radar technology, filling a major observational gap in weather and climate monitoring.Four different simulations of the WIVERN radar instrument Level-1 observables from the end-to-end simulator developed at Politecnico di Torino are provided. The simulations consider hurricane Milton as a case study (from 06/10/2024 to 08/10/2024), using the output of WRF model simulations as inputs to produce synthetic measurements from the on-board radar instrument. The four netCDF files in the repository represent the following:First of two consecutive WIVERN overpasses for Hollande's model (pass labeled "2" on 2024/10/07 at 00:00)Second of two consecutive WIVERN overpasses for Hollande's model (pass labeled "3" on 2024/10/08 at 00:00)Case study for WIVERN Level-3 winds field reconstruction (satellite overpass at ~250 km from cyclone's eye, on 2024/10/07 at 12:00 UTC)Case study for WIVERN Level-3 Ice Water Content field reconstruction (satellite overpass at ~250 km from cyclone's eye, on 2024/10/07 at 11:00 UTC)<br>This repository was created in compliance with the Earth and Space Science journal's data availabilty guidelines for thye sumission of the manuscript titled "Peering inside tropical cyclones with the WIVERN space-borne Doppler radar", by A.
