Sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) is a life-threatening condition. This study employed metagenomics and metabolomics to analyze the gut microbiota and metabolites changes in nine patients, including four with SA-AKI and five without. We observed significant differences in gut microbiota composition and metabolic profiles between the groups, highlighting the crucial role of the gut-kidney axis in the early stages of sepsis. This connection could offer insights and potential targets for managing SA-AKI.
脓毒症相关性急性肾损伤(Sepsis-associated acute kidney injury, SA-AKI)是一种危及生命的病症。本研究采用宏基因组学(metagenomics)与代谢组学(metabolomics)技术,对9名患者的肠道菌群(gut microbiota)及代谢物(metabolites)变化进行分析,其中4名患者患有脓毒症相关性急性肾损伤,其余5名未患该病。本研究观察到两组患者的肠道菌群组成与代谢谱存在显著差异,凸显了肠肾轴(gut-kidney axis)在脓毒症早期阶段的关键作用。该关联可为脓毒症相关性急性肾损伤的临床管理提供新思路与潜在干预靶点。
