Marchantia MET1 mutant

We used Marchantia polymorpha as one of the model species for basal land plants to analyze the role of DNA methylation in plant evolution. MpMET is the ortholog of Arabidopsis DNA methyltransferase MET1 gene. To reveal MpMET function, we generated MpMET mutants and analyzed transcriptome and methylome status of Mpmet mutants and WT Machantia.

我们选取地钱（Marchantia polymorpha）作为基部陆生植物的模式物种之一，以研究DNA甲基化（DNA methylation）在植物演化中的作用。MpMET是拟南芥DNA甲基转移酶MET1基因的直向同源基因（ortholog）。为阐明MpMET的生物学功能，我们构建了MpMET突变体，并对Mpmet突变体与野生型（WT）地钱的转录组（transcriptome）及甲基化组（methylome）状态进行了分析。
