Off-peak frequency in regional public transport

The purpose of this study is to look into patronage effects of extended supply outside peak hours on regional public transport services. The patronage effects are explored through four case studies from the region of Scania (Skåne), south Sweden. The cases include rail, coach, and bus services where substantial improvements have been made outside peak hours, resulting in at least hourly all-day services. Two datasets are used: one with panel data, covering 10-14 years of annual measurements of the daily number of trips, and one with before-and-after data where the number of trips on individual departures have been recorded at two points in time.

Trip data in the form of daily passenger numbers (weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays), annual observations. Panel data comprising four different public transport services over 10-14 years. Besides the trip data, the dataset also includes the number of daily departures, ticket prices, petrol prices, and population data.

本研究旨在探究非高峰时段扩展供应对区域公共交通服务的客流量影响。通过瑞典南部斯科讷（Scania/Skåne）地区的四个案例研究，我们对上述客流量影响展开分析——这些案例涵盖铁路、长途汽车及巴士服务，其非高峰时段服务均已实现大幅优化，达到至少全天每小时一班的运营水平。研究使用两类数据集：一类为面板数据（panel data），包含10至14年的每日出行次数年度测量值；另一类为前后对比数据（before-and-after data），记录了单个班次在两个时间点的出行次数。

出行数据以每日乘客数量（含工作日、周六、周日）的年度观测值形式呈现。面板数据涵盖10-14年间的四种不同公共交通服务；除出行数据外，数据集还包含每日班次数量、票价、汽油价格及人口数据。
