Comparative Transcriptome provides insights into Skin Color Variation in hybrid Hulong grouper

The hybrid Hulong grouper is an important species of grouper. During the breeding process, the hybrid Hulong grouper gradually appeared the phenomenon of body color variation, such as normal(N), white (W), yellow (Y) and secondary color (SC), respectively. To understand the underlying molecular mechanism, we utilized the powerful approach of comparative transcriptome analysis via high throughput sequencing in different body color groups and further focused on potential pathways and genes.

虎龙杂交石斑鱼（hybrid Hulong grouper）是一类重要的石斑鱼（grouper）品种。在养殖过程中，该鱼逐渐出现体色变异现象，具体分别表现为正常体色（N）、白色体色（W）、黄色体色（Y）及次生色（SC）四类。为阐明其潜在的分子调控机制，本研究借助高通量测序（high throughput sequencing）技术开展不同体色组的比较转录组分析（comparative transcriptome analysis），并进一步聚焦于潜在的调控通路与功能基因。
