Rodents are recognized as intermediate hosts of zoonotic diseases that represent a serious threat to human health. Cryptococcus is an opportunistic fungal pathogen found worldwide and causes life-threatening meningoencephalitis especially in immunocompromised host. In this view, the present study was conducted to investigate the role of rodents in the epidemiology of cryptococcosis caused by Cryptococcus neoformans.
