栃原岩陰遺跡 縄文時代早期土器(報告書No.101-4)

It is one example of "double-sided cord-marked pottery", which features cord impressions applied to both its exterior and interior surfaces. The lower portion of its interior (rear) surface has experienced surface flaking, revealing an earlier layer of cord impressions applied during a prior manufacturing stage. Research aimed at deciphering the pottery production methods used at the Tochihara Iwakage Site has been ongoing through analysis of such sherds.
