This contribution offers a discussion on the enhancement of the top-down approach in the listening of oral texts in European Portuguese, by Italian-speaking learners. Portuguese has a vowel system that is particularly rich when compared to Italian. In addition, the vowels in non-accented syllables undergo a process of reduction that makes them difficult to perceive by the ear of an Italian speaker. In order to face such a difficulty of perception, recognition and comprehension of the oral text, it is necessary on one hand to consider the specific problems at all linguistic levels, following a bottom-up perspective and, on the other hand, to focus on the contribution that inference can make to strengthen the possibilities of understanding the message.

本研究围绕以意大利语为母语的学习者聆听欧洲葡萄牙语（European Portuguese）口语文本时，自上而下（top-down）听辨策略的优化路径展开探讨。相较于意大利语，葡萄牙语的元音系统尤为丰富。此外，非重读音节中的元音会发生弱化过程，导致意大利语母语者难以通过听觉感知此类元音。为解决该类口语文本在感知、识别与理解层面的难点，一方面需结合自下而上（bottom-up）视角，考量全语言层级的特异性问题；另一方面则需聚焦推理推断对提升信息理解可能性的辅助价值。
