This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Closing the Pollination Gap in Cacao Agroforests: Balancing Pesticide Use and Shade Management”, submitted to Agroforestry Systems. It includes all tree-, plot-, and farm-level variables used to evaluate the effects of pesticide application (insecticide and fungicide) and breeding substrate addition on cacao pollination. The dataset contains treatment assignments, genotypes, flower counts for natural and hand pollination across two sampling weeks, pollination success, pollination deficit, ground cover metrics, total and associated shade measurements, and precipitation.Additional files document the few cases in which nearby trees were used when focal trees lacked flowers, as well as the full R script used for data processing, statistical analyses, and model diagnostics.
