Livestock manure rapid composting system

Aerobic composting is an attractive solution to non-point source environmental contamination of livestock manure. However, the traditional method has slow kinetics and takes approximately 60 to 90 days to obtain the mature compost. In this study, we propose to boost up the decomposition process by artificially maintain a thermophilic environment and addition of bacterial isolates that were able to produce lignocellulolytic enzymes.

好氧堆肥（Aerobic composting）是治理畜禽粪便引发的面源环境污染的极具吸引力的技术方案。然而传统堆肥工艺的反应动力学进程缓慢，通常需耗时60至90天方可获得腐熟堆肥。本研究通过人工维持高温环境（thermophilic environment）并添加可产木质纤维素酶（lignocellulolytic enzymes）的细菌分离株（bacterial isolates），以强化畜禽粪便的降解过程。
