Transcriptomes for pecan trees (Carya illinoinensis) that were consistently resistant and susceptible to wild populations of Venturia effusa across three years of data collection where quantified using RNAseq. Venturia effusa is the causative agent of the most yield limiting disease for pecan in humid regions. The transcriptomes of infected susceptible plants were also quantified. Evaluation of data generated for this work will help identify genes and biological pathways responsible for susceptibility/resistance to the pathogen. This information will help lead future breeding programs and give biotechnological options for durable resistance to pecan scab.
本数据集包含经三年连续数据收集的、分别始终表现抗病与感病的山核桃(Carya illinoinensis)的转录组(transcriptome),所有样本均通过RNA测序(RNAseq)完成转录组定量分析。疣孢霉(Venturia effusa)是湿润地区山核桃生产中限制作物产量的最主要病害的病原菌。接种病原菌的感病植株的转录组同样得到了定量分析。对本研究生成的数据进行解析,将有助于鉴定出与该病原菌互作相关的感病/抗病基因及生物学通路。该研究结果可为未来山核桃育种计划提供指导,并为实现山核桃疮痂病(pecan scab)的持久抗性提供生物技术解决方案。
