This file contains precipitation data for Ny-Alesund from 01/01/1975 to 31/12/2022.
It contains observed data downloaded from the database of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute accessible via https://seklima.met.no/ (last accessed on 20/12/2023).
The corrected data correspond to the ensemble mean of corrected precipitation data as described in O. Champagne et al., Artificial Trends or Real Changes? Investigating Precipitation Records in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard, submitted to the Journal of Hydrometeorology, 2023.
The file contains one table "Rain+Snow".
The columns represent the following data:
1. Date+time [UTC]: Date and time in UTC of the collection of the precipitation, i.e. the indicated values correspond to the precipitation collected in the following 12h period
2. Observed Rain: observed liquid precipitation in mm, derived from observed total precipitation as a function of temperature and solid to total precipitation ratios as described in Champagne et al.
3. Observed Snow: observed solid precipitation in mm, derived from observed total precipitation as a function of temperature and solid to total precipitation ratios as described in Champagne et al.
4. Observed Rain+Snow: observed total precipitation in mm, downloaded from seklima.met.no
5. Ensemble mean Rain: Average of all corrected liquid precipitation in mm.
6. Ensemble mean Snow: Average of all corrected solid precipitation in mm.
7. Ensemble mean Rain+Snow: Average of all corrected total precipitation in mm.
