Sequencing of 1000 fungal genomes to serve as the foundation for a reference database for studies of fungal metagenomics and the fungal metabolome. Selection of target taxa will aim to sample all orders and families of fungi, as well as major ecologies and morphologies, in order to well represent phylogenetic, ecological and functional fungal diversity.

本数据集通过对1000个真菌基因组开展测序工作，为真菌宏基因组学（fungal metagenomics）与真菌代谢组学（fungal metabolome）相关研究搭建参考数据库基础。目标分类群（target taxa）的筛选将覆盖真菌的所有目与科，并涵盖主要的生态类型与形态类型，以全面展现真菌在系统发育、生态及功能层面的多样性。
