Salivary Microbiome in Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea

In this project, we aimed to determine whether microbial composition of biofilm in subjects with OSA has been altered. Furthermore, we also investigated the distribution of specific periodontal pathogens in OSA patients compared with normal controls, in order to seek the potential explanation of the increased risk of periodontitis risk in OSA.

本研究旨在明确阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停（Obstructive Sleep Apnea, OSA）患者体内生物膜（biofilm）的微生物组成是否发生改变。此外，本研究还对比分析了OSA患者与正常对照者体内特定牙周病原体的分布情况，以期探寻OSA患者牙周炎患病风险升高的潜在原因。
