The attached dataset contains the extracted data used in a systematic review and meta-analysis of gastrointestinal parasite (GIP) infections in cattle, sheep, and goats across sub-Saharan Africa. Data were compiled from 117 peer-reviewed studies conducted in 18 countries, identified through a systematic literature search carried out between April and July 2025. For each study, information was extracted on study characteristics (authors, year of publication, country, study design), host species (cattle, sheep, or goats), sample size, number of positive cases, diagnostic methods used, parasite taxa reported, sample source (e.g., on-farm, abattoir, market), and other relevant epidemiological variables. Further details on how the data was generated and cleaned can be found in the methodology section of the afore-mentioned study.
